No, he wasn’t calling to wish me back to better health. He was calling to include me in what he dubbed a “virtual town forum” on ballot Issues A-I as part of the Better Denver campaign.

He was taking questions from telephone listeners, the majority of whom seemed to be older citizens — probably because the call came at 1:30 pm and so retirees at home outnumbered those stuck at work.

Every caller had an opinion, though Mr Hickenlooper’s toughest job seemed to be keeping the discussion focused on Issues A-I, rather than hearing opinions on everything from snow removal to Colorado Rockies tickets to artificial grass to the power of prayer!

While listening in I surfed over to BetterDenver.org to see if the call was being streamed online at the same time. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any information on the call. I also checked the City of Denver website and couldn’t track anything down there either.

It’d be great if for future virtual town forums the Mayor could provide an online component as well. But, rather than voicing this opinion on the call with the Mayor, I decided to voice it on this blog instead. (Hope hes’ reading!)

At any rate, while the virtual town forum was missing an online component, at least Mayor Hickenlooper has jumped on the Web 2.0 bandwagon in other ways with the MayorHickenlooper YouTube Channel:
