Big Discounts on Earth-Friendly Mowers Print E-mail
Friday, 25 April 2008

Who:
The Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC), the City of Greeley and Neuton Lawn Mower Company

What:
All residents of Weld County are invited to the Mow Down Pollution event at Greeley’s 33rd Annual Spring Cleanup Weekend.  Residents can trade in their old gas-guzzling mowers for big discounts on new, electric earth-friendly mowers! We’ll recycle the old mowers and send you into summer breathing clear with your new Neuton mower. Just remember to drain your old mower of fuel before you bring it for exchange!

Where:
Greeley Farmers Market
902 7th Ave.
Greeley, CO  80631

When:
Friday, April 25 – Saturday, April 26
7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why:
The RAQC and the City of Greeley want to help residents take care of our summer air. Quart for quart, gasoline consumed by lawn mower engines today contributes 93 times more smog-forming emissions than many cars. Models manufactured before 1997 (when lawn equipment emissions standards were revised) are particular culprits, contributing to ground-level ozone.

Ground-level ozone pollution is formed when emissions from everyday items combine with other pollutants and “cook” in heat and sunlight.

Ozone affects our city’s livability and can cause attacks and symptoms in people with pre-existing health conditions, such as asthma or other respiratory infections. High levels of ozone pollution also affect healthy people who work or exercise outdoors. For additional information on ground-level ozone, please visit www.OzoneAware.org or the RAQC Web site at www.raqc.org or call (303) 629-5450.

Colorado’s most famous almond toffee and candy makers have sweetened the retail landscape in Arvada, Colo., by opening an Enstrom’s store featuring the World Famous Almond Toffee, among other chocolates, confections and premium ice cream made according to Chet Enstrom’s original 1929 recipe.

The location, 6770 West 52nd Ave. in Arvada, was previously a Stephany’s Chocolates factory store. Enstrom Candies purchased Stephany’s Chocolates in 2006. Goodwill Industries International is part of a national coalition that is educating the public about the transition in WHEN from analog (over-the-air) television to all-digital broadcasting. Digital broadcasting promises to provide a clearer picture and more programming options and will free up airwaves for use by emergency responders.

Consumers with television sets with built-in digital tuners or TV sets connected to cable, satellite or other pay service will likely not be affected, but Goodwill Denver is concerned that some consumers with limited English-speaking skills, those in rural areas and those in lower income brackets may "fall through the cracks" and not receive critical information about the transition.

D.H. Ruggles Honored with Three Awards Print E-mail
Wednesday, 10 October 2007
In September our client D.H. Ruggles & Associates was honored with three awards: It was named one of ColoradoBiz's Top 250 Private Companies, Mountain Living magazine listed the company as a top mountain architect, and BUILDERnews named Don Ruggles a leading architect in the luxury homes category.

Each year ColoradoBiz magazine recognizes Colorado’s top 250 privately held companies, and D.H. Ruggles & Associates were among this year’s recipients of notice. The company's inclusion as one of the top mountain architects in Mountain Living magazine was its second year in a row for the recognition.

Additionally, for the first time, this year BUILDERnews magazine recognized Don Ruggles as one of the six leading 2007 Top Architects in the West. Don Ruggles, CEO of D.H. Ruggles & Associates, said this about his home design: “I incorporate integrity and honesty into luxury home design. The size of the home isn’t important, as long as it contains a uniqueness and history. When I visit a new home site, I look at the forces on the site, such as the topography, sunlight, weather and calm versus aggressive space. These are all forces that help shape the home. I try to design parallel to the topography, by working with the land.”

We are proud and excited to work with D.H.Ruggles & Associates, and we know that the company's success will only continue in the future.
