Women-owned businesses employ about 91,000 workers in Denver -- but how many people can say they have to report to their mother at work.
GG Johnston was just 7 when her mom, Gwin Johnston, founded JohnstonWells Public Relations in 1971.
"The business has been in my life, pretty much my whole life," said GG Johnston, 41.
She started as a child, stuffing envelopes for her mom. As an adult, she worked in public relations for a hospital in Laramie, Wyo., but moved back to Denver 12 years ago and joined JohnstonWells.
Now she's president of the company.
