Easy-to-understand guides help troops install pad kits to better protect their heads
DENVER - SKYDEX Technologies, Inc. and Kwikpoint today announced a newly-designed visual language guide for soldiers using SKYDEX’s PASGT (Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops) Helmet Pad Suspension System. The PASGT helmet is used by millions of troops around the world.
Kwikpoint’s visual language technology employs precise, clear, innovative custom-designed graphics in its pocket-sized visual language translators to instantly cut through language barriers and enhance communication between speakers of different languages in military, medical, law enforcement, travel and other applications. By adapting this technology to SKYDEX’s PASGT Helmet-Pad Upgrade kit instruction guide, soldiers can easily and rapidly install SKYDEX retrofit helmet pads into the upgraded PASGT helmets.
“The newly-designed guides are a huge breakthrough for SKYDEX in the science of communication for instructional product information” said SKYDEX President and CEO Mike Buchen. “Kwikpoint has provided nearly 1.5 million visual language guides to U.S. military forces and coalition partners in Iraq, Afghanistan, Horn of Africa, and elsewhere.” Kwikpoint Visual Language Translators are fold-out, multi-panel cards printed on virtually-indestructible Yupo paper and deliver survival-level language skills through pictures and phonetics-based command and control and other key phrases in Iraqi Arabic, Farsi, Kurdish, Pashto and Dari. English, French and Spanish versions are currently available. SKYDEX’s unique opposing twin-hemisphere pad design protects the head by dramatically improving the impact protection of PASGT helmets. SKYDEX materials absorb impact through compression of opposed hemispheres formed from durable elastic polymers. Such materials are proven to offer far more effective impact protection and require less space than traditional cushioning materials like foam or rubber. The pads are custom engineered to provide maximum shock absorption at the most critical impact points. The padding retrofits military helmets already used in the field by troops to provide more impact protection and help save lives. About SKYDEX Technologies, Inc. SKYDEX™ shock absorbing technology redefines cushioning and protective capabilities in a wide variety of products to protect the things that matter most in our lives –our friends and family. Patented SKYDEX technology combines high performance polymers with proprietary geometry for superior cushioning power, and the technology can be endlessly customized for specific applications. Quickly becoming a household name in cushioning and impact protection, SKYDEX technology is used by some of the world’s most innovative consumer brands as well as by the U.S. Military.
