|
Wednesday, 04 June 2008 |
According to UNICEF, 1.1 billion people worldwide lack access to safe drinking water and 5,000 people die every day from water-related illnesses. Innovative Water Technologies hopes to change that by purifying water using energy from the sun.Innovative Water Technologies (IWT), a Colorado-based company dedicated to researching and developing products related to water treatment and purification, will launch the Sunspring water purification system and the opening of their Rocky Ford, Colo. manufacturing facility on May 29. The Sunspring is a portable, self-contained, solar-powered water purification system that can process enough clean drinking water for remote campgrounds, worksites, emergency response sites and small villages around the world at a reasonable cost. “IWT has worked hard to develop an affordable, sustainable water system, that can be used to provide clean and safe drinking water to remote locations in Colorado and around the world,” said Jack Barker, president and co-owner of IWT. “We are also happy to call Rocky Ford our new home with the opening of the Sunspring manufacturing facility.” |
